THE HUD (US Department of Housing and Urban Development)

Just before you close/settle on a property you will receive a HUD (see image), from the title company. This contains the total price you are paying for your property, deposits you have paid (earnest), closing costs, taxes owed. It is split into two halves, the buyer's side and the seller's side. The total figure at the bottom left of the page is what you will pay at the closing.

You should read this form carefully and check the figures, as mistakes can be made.
